COVID19 UPDATE FOR SEA TURTLE TRIATHLON (updated 7.1.2020)
We had all intentions of opening registration on July 1st 2020, but will push back to July 15th 2020 due to Florida has decided to show an upward trend of COVID19 cases. We are hoping this is only temporary and we will be back on track. Race day is 3 months away it still remains very fluid. We feel we that there is a GOOD chance that COVID19 will NOT affect this years event, BUT we really don't know.
IF this years event is cancelled due to COVID19 you will have 3 options for your athlete registration: 1) Defer to the 2021 event, 2) Refund registration fee (less the processing fee), 3) Donation to TGC Youth Multisport. Please note that we can not refund USAT Youth membership fee.
We will limit the field to 200 athletes MAXIMUM.
We continue to stay informed on the health and safety information from various sources (CDC, local municipalities, USAT, etc;) related to COVID19. Our goal is to execute a safe race and you MAY see changes for our 2020 event to assure athlete health safety during the event. We are in the process of developing our pandemic safety protocol - but this is very fluid as things change daily, weekly, monthly. There is a good chance you will see changes that include designated packet pick up times to decrease congestion, optimal amounts of hand sanitizer located at venue, a more spacious transition area, less bikes per bike rack, time trial swim start with social distancing upon entering, zero touch points at the finish line, limited after party and minimal awards presentation (self pick up). We do not want to commit to any or all of these safety measures at this moment but as we approach race day we will be informing all athletes of what to expect.
Since 2013, Tri Gulf Coast Triathlon Club has put on two youth multisport events. We pride ourselves in providing premiere youth events that have exciting race venues. Our attention to detail make for a memorable experience for athletes between 6yrs and 15 years old.
The Zarzaur Law Maritime de Luna Du Youth Duathlon is the first of two events in the TriGulfCoast Youth Multisport Series. The De Luna Du Youth Duathlon is held in early March at Pensacola’s Community Maritime Park. The race offers a scenic run-bike-run course for kids ages 6 to 15 (as of December 31 in the year of the event).
The Zarzaur Law Sea Turtle Youth Triathlon is held on the beautiful Gulf of Mexico in Pensacola Beach, Florida. The event features a full triathlon experience for children from 7 to 15 years old while friends and family cheer them on. With a fully supported event on a closed course, safety and encouragement from volunteers complement the excitement of children becoming triathletes.
In 2016 TriGulf Coast joined forces with Pillars For Promise to attain 501c3 status as a non-profit organization. Pillars for Promise is a community 501c3 that allows smaller organizations be represented and benefit from the non-profit status. We are grateful to be a part of this program.
